General Documentation
TableNinja Version 1.2.24.0 Configuration Guide
- Installation: To install TableNinja just download and unzip the file, double click setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions
- Required PokerStars® Settings: Please make sure that you have PokerStars® configured with our Required PokerStars® Settings.
- Setup: The first time you run TableNinja you will be guided through the configuration process
by the TableNinja Setup pop-up.
- Language: Please select your language. The links in TableNinja will take you to our online documentation translated by Google® into the language you select here.
- Table Layout: Select your table layout style. If none of your tables overlap, select "NoOverlap". If you stack, select "Stack". If you cascade, select "Cascade". For all other layouts with any amount of table overlap, select "Overlap".
- Automatic Configuration: TableNinja will attempt to detect your settings and automatically finish the configuration process. If this process is successful you will see an "Automatic configuration was successful. Setup is complete!" message. This message means that TableNinja is now properly configured and you are ready to start using TableNinja's features.
- Manual Configuration: In rare cases the automatic configuration process may fail. In this case you will receive a warning message and when you click the "Start TableNinja" button you will be automatically taken to the "Setup" tab where you will need to manually complete the configuration process. Please see our Manual Configuration Guide for instructions.
- Table Control: Next you will need to pick a Table Control Mode. We recommend that people who are stacking or cascading use "Table In Foreground" (TiF) and that users who are tiling their tables use "Table Under Mouse" (TuM) but this is largely a matter of personal preference. Click here for more information about Table Control.
- Creating Hotkeys: Finally you will need to create some hotkeys
- Enjoy TableNinja!: You are now ready to start using all of TableNinja's great features. We recommend you take some time to browse through the program and the documentation to see all the things that TableNinja can do. If you encounter any problems that are not addressed in the documentation check our FAQ or ask a question on the TableNinja Forums.

Required PokerStars® Settings
For Table Ninja to work properly you must go into PokerStars® and make sure that you are using the following settings:
- Use a TableNinja compatible PokerStars® theme: TableNinja officially supports
the following themes:
- PokerStars® Classic Theme
- PokerStars® No Images Theme
- PokerStars® Hyper-Simple Theme
- Enable "Single Click Table Activation" and "Popup table whenever user action is required". From the PokerStars® Lobby click "Options" and chose "Advanced Multitable Options..." from the list. Then make sure the checkbox next to "Single click table activation" is checked and that the checkbox next to "Popup table whenever user action is required" is checked.
- Block Automatic Tournament Announcements. From the PokerStars® Lobby click "Options" and make sure that the checkbox next to "Block Automatic Tournament Announcements" is checked.
- If you are using Window's XP or Windows Vista with a non-Aero theme you must make sure that your Heads Up Display is not covering the box displaying the size of the pot ( directly above the chip stack), the action buttons, and the cards (Table Ninja looks at the number of cards on the felt to determine which street it is).
- Disable "Right Click to show Table Themes". If you would like to use "Right Click" as a hotkey then you need to click Options in the PokerStars® Lobby and uncheck the "Right Click to show Table Themes" option.

Manual Configuration of TableNinja
Settings that TableNinja failed to detect automatically will be highlighted in red on the Setup tab and will need to be set manually.
Instructions for how to manually configure each of the items on the Setup tab are below.
- PokerStars® Theme: Select your PokerStars® theme.
Please be aware that TableNinja only officially supports the themes listed below, although other themes may work.
We recommend that you get everything configured properly with one of the officially supported themes before trying
to use any custom themes.
- PokerStars® Classic Theme
- PokerStars® No Images Theme
- PokerStars® Hyper-Simple Theme
- PokerStars® Settings Folder: TableNinja should automatically detect your settings and specify the correct directory here. Only set this folder manually if it says "Error" in red. If you see the red "Error" message you will need to set this folder to your PokerStars® "My Settings Folder" location, which you can view by opening the main lobby in PokerStars® and clicking "Help" &rarr "Open My Settings Folder"
- Main Hand History Folder: Select your main hand history folder (one folder above your username) by clicking the "..." button. If you're not sure which folder to choose click here for detailed instructions
Creating Hotkeys
TableNinja has an extremely simple interface for creating hotkeys. To assign a hotkey to an action, simply click the text-field next to that action and hit the key or mouse button or combination of buttons to which you would like the hotkey assigned. Note that you cannot assign a hotkey to the left-click button on the mouse. Also note when creating mouse hotkeys your cursor must be over the text field.
Table Control Options
To view the Table Control options open the Table Control tab on the main TableNinja window. TableNinja always sends all hotkey actions to the target table. TableNinja uses customizable color coded frames to show which tables need attention and which table is the target table. By default the target table is framed in red. You can change the colors by clicking the colored boxes. TableNinja provides three ways to control which table is the target table, you can use whichever method feels the most natural to you.
Table Under Mouse
In the Table Under Mouse mode hotkeys get sent to whichever table your cursor is over. Note that your cursor must be outside the chat box and the bet box. This option is very simple and extremely easy to use - just move your cursor over a table to make that table the target table and any hotkeys you click will be sent to that table. Be aware that with this option, when using the scroll wheel you must be targeting a table. PokerStars® automatically detects the scroll wheel and has scroll up decrement the bet and scroll down increment the bet (Yes that's backwards and weird we don't know why). TableNinja is designed to over-ride this, but you need to be targeting a table when using the scroll wheel.
Table In Foreground
TableNinja also has a "Table in Foreground" control mode. With this method the foremost table in the windows Z-order is always the target table. PokerStars automatically brings tables requiring action to the front so with this method TableNinja will automatically target tables that need attention and add them to a queue of tables waiting for action. When an action is needed at a table, that table automatically becomes the new target table if the current target table does not need an action. Once you take an action the next table that needs attention automatically becomes the target table. In addition, clicking a table brings it to the front and makes it the target table so we can also manually chose a target table at any time with this method.
Manually Cycled/Clicked
This mode allows you to manually control which table is targeted either by clicking on a table or using the "Cycling Hotkeys".
Hand History Settings
TableNinja should automatically detect your hand history folder and set it properly in most cases. However, if your PokerStars® username contains a space, comma, period, or some other special character you may need to set this folder manually. In this case please check the "Override User Folder" and then specify the file path where your hand history files are saved by PokerStars® To find the File Path for your hand history files go to the PokerStars® lobby, click "Options" and click "Instant Hand History Options..." a PokerStars® Pop-up will appear with a box entitled "Where To Save". On the "Setup" tab in TableNinja click the "..." button next to the Main hand history folder file path and browse to the "Where to Save" folder. Then select the folder with your PokerStars® username. Also verify that you have the "Save my Hand History" checkbox checked and that your Language is set to English in PokerStars®.PokerStars® Settings Folder
TableNinja should automatically enter the correct PokerStars® settings folder for you. Only set this folder manually if you encounter problems or if you are instructed to by support. If you need to set this folder manually, it should be set to your PokerStars® "My Settings Folder" location, which you can view my opening the main lobby in PokerStars® and clicking "Help" &rarr "Open My Settings Folder"
